MTBooter
Building out, testing and evaluating Movable Type is relatively useless without test data. Users typically generate this themselves, but even so, this does not give anyone and accurate sense of what your blog will look like with 1000 entires, pages and comments.
MTBooter is a plugin that is capable of auto-generating large amounts of test data for your Movable Type install through a simple, easy to follow wizard.

Once you've installed this plugin, look in the "Create" dropdown menu and you'll see "Test Data." Took me a few minutes to figure out where to look.

Does not seem to work with MT4.2/4.21. Returns a whole mess of errors, and there's no indication whether you need to first generate a bunch of custom fields, then categories, then entries since the interface suggests that all of these will be done on the fly.
